Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you browse mikloskovacs.io, read its articles or contact Miklos Kovacs. The website presents a personal professional profile, AI experiments, writing and the book WIN THE ANSWER.

1. Data controller

Kovács Miklós
Address: 9700 Szombathely, Szabadnep u. 38.
Privacy contact: hello@mikloskovacs.io

2. Information, purposes and legal bases

  • Correspondence: your name, reply address, message and information you choose to send by email or LinkedIn are used to respond and continue the conversation. The legal basis is legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in managing professional correspondence. Providing information is voluntary; without contact details or relevant context I may be unable to reply.
  • Website delivery and security: infrastructure processes IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser details and error or security events to deliver pages, troubleshoot problems and prevent abuse. The legal basis is legitimate interests in operating and securing the website.
  • Privacy preferences: consent choices and related technical information are stored to respect your selections and meet applicable consent obligations.
  • Optional measurement: depending on your cookie choices, Google tags and Meta and OpenAI advertising pixels may process page views, referring pages, device/browser information, online identifiers and interaction events for audience measurement and advertising attribution. Optional tracking relies on consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Legal records: information may be retained to meet a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim (legitimate interests).

Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information, and only share third-party information you are entitled to disclose.

3. Cookies and measurement

The website uses WordPress and the Complianz consent interface. Necessary technologies support operation, security and privacy preferences. The current site also includes Google tags and consent-controlled Meta and OpenAI advertising pixels. These technical integrations are separate from any decision to contact me.

Use the website's Manage consent control to review choices, reject optional categories or withdraw consent. Browser settings can also delete or block cookies. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal and does not automatically remove information already received by a provider.

Google Consent Mode can communicate consent status and limited measurement signals when storage consent is denied. Refusing cookies therefore does not necessarily prevent all Google network requests. External resources, such as fonts, may expose technical connection information, including an IP address, to their provider when requested.

4. Recipients and external platforms

Recipients may include providers supporting hosting, security, backups, email delivery and storage, and the measurement integrations above. Google supports email and website measurement infrastructure; Meta and OpenAI receive information through their respective optional pixel integrations when enabled. Authorities or professional advisers may receive information where legally required or necessary for a legal claim. Providers receive information needed for their relevant role.

See the Google Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy and OpenAI Privacy Policy for their practices.

LinkedIn, Amazon and separately linked websites or applications have their own privacy notices. LinkedIn also processes messages sent through its platform. If you purchase the book on Amazon, the retailer handles checkout and payment data under its own notice; this website does not receive your payment-card details through the external book link.

5. International transfers

The controller is based in Hungary. International providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where the GDPR requires transfer protection, the applicable mechanism must be an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The mechanism depends on the recipient and destination; the EU–US Data Privacy Framework applies only to eligible certified recipients and covered data. Contact the privacy address for information about the safeguards relevant to your data and how to obtain a copy.

6. Retention

Correspondence is kept while necessary to answer, maintain the relevant professional conversation or retain a necessary record of it. Retention depends on the purpose, whether the exchange remains active and any legal need for the record. Technical logs and backups follow operational security needs and provider retention cycles. Cookie and measurement retention depends on the technology, configured lifetime and your choices. The current consent interface can retain preferences for up to 365 days before renewal.

A website redesign does not automatically erase previously collected records. Any records still lawfully retained remain subject to purpose limitation, applicable retention duties and your rights. Records needed for a specific legal obligation or dispute are retained only for the applicable period. Contact me about a particular record or to request deletion.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. Data portability applies where processing is automated and based on consent or contract. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Starting a professional conversation does not itself subscribe you to a mailing list.

Send requests to hello@mikloskovacs.io. Proportionate identity verification may be needed. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month. If a lawful extension is necessary because of complexity or the number of requests, you will be informed within that first month.

You may complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) or the competent authority where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. Rights available under other applicable laws remain unaffected.

8. Automated decisions, security and children

Browsing this website or corresponding with me does not involve solely automated decisions by me producing legal or similarly significant effects on you. Articles about AI experiments do not mean visitors' messages are submitted to the tools discussed.

Reasonable technical and organisational measures protect personal data, but no online system guarantees absolute security. The website has a general professional readership and does not specifically seek children's personal information. Contact me if a child has unnecessarily provided personal information so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

9. Updates and contact

Changes appear here with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated separately where required. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to hello@mikloskovacs.io.

Anonymous page-load totals

We also count page loads in daily aggregates on this website, independently of analytics consent. This counter uses no cookies, browser storage or visitor identifiers. It stores only the day, language, page category, broad traffic-source category and count for up to 90 days. It does not store IP addresses, full URLs, referrers or form contents in its measurement table. DNT/GPC signals are respected. These totals are not unique visitors. Hosting security/access logs are separate.
